Its been a year since the start of my weight-loss. I've lost 171 lbs so far.
I took this first picture right before my surgery, and my eyes still look the same, and on the inside I mostly feel the same. Glynn and I were at a party about a month ago for the next picture....and when I look at the last picture, I can't believe its me. I've come so far and feel SO great.

New Found Shopping Joy!
Ok guys, its happened for real. I was hanging out with a new friend I made at work on a Saturday and we ended up in an Ashely Stewart store. I browsed around the sale racks and found some jeans for $14.99. I had $20 in my purse, so I could but them if I wanted, the only problem was that teh jeans were size 18. I've now lost about 130lbs, and ALL of my clothes are now huge on me. I really want and need a new pair of jeans, and a size 18 might fit, so i tried it.......and........SUCCESS!!!
I pulled them up and zipped them up, and I didn't even have to do the belly suck in. I had a flash of the last time I wore a size 18 jeans........I was in 7th grade and I was walking around town with some of my friends. My thighs had been rubbing together the whole time and the jeans were really really tight. My thighs had rubbed together so much that the jeans were worn thin and broke open. My friends and I were still pretty far from home, so I just had to keep on walking. My skin was rubbed pretty raw and it was pretty painful walking, by teh time I got home it was pretty bad. I remember taking them off and looking at the number on the label, 18.
So after that story I guess you can appreciate how much a size 18 jean means to me.
For those of you of the Mormon persuation, you can undertsand how cool it was to buy new garmies and be able to buy all the pairs I wanted right at the temple store,and not have to buy only one or two and order the rest because they only had a few for my size on hand.
AND I'd like to comment on the joy of buying new bras, right off the rack, the ones on sale for $6.88 at Wal-Mart. For the longest time, I counted myself lucky if I could find ONE bra, hidden all the way in the back, on the bottom rack, in my size. They don't stock lots and lots of 44D people. BUT they DO stock lots and lots of 36D, in the super cute colors and styles!
Ok, so enough about my underwear.............
Its nice being able to shop at the regular store. Not to say that I might still peruse Lane Bryant, but its not the only store I CAN shop for clothes. I can shop just about anywhere now, and I can go ahead and buy that size L t-shirt.

Glynn has reached the surgeon's weight loss goal by loosing 150 lbs!!

Yaya thats awesome!
AND he's reached this goal a whole six months sooner than the surgeon projected he would! He'll be a buck-eighty before you know it. :)

Damn you Digestive System!!!
Ok so I have Gall Stones.
Blech.
Just the thought of Gall Stones grosses me out.
I have had a few “gall attacks” at home and one at work.
OMG worst pain ever. I was not even in this much pain when I was in labor guys. For real.
So I went and had an abdominal scan and there they were, all shiny and white in my gallbladder, laughing at me.
The nurse said lots of people get gall stones after loosing so much weight and she seemed to think it was no big deal.
I have to take pills that ATTACK my gall stones for 6 months and have another scan – Then if they are still there they will take my gallbladder out.
I hope they work, I do not want to have more surgery. Surgery blows, it is not Sofa King great.

Helloooooooo everybody!
Things are going pretty well for us. Glynn has lost close to 125 pounds and I have lost close to 90. It does not seem fair that Glynn has had less time and has lost more weight, but like everybody says, "men just loose weight faster!". I guess I will just have to grudgingly accept it. I need to loose about 60 more pounds to feel good about trying to get pregnant in July. I know that seems like a lot, but in the world of weight loss surgery, its not too bad.
We have been trying to take Izaiah on a walk around the block every evening, and my new job has me on my feet quite a bit. We've also been trying to get in a good bike ride and pic-nic every weekend. So we are able to get a little bit of excersize, but its clearly not enough. It's really hard to fit it into my day, and its hard for me to imagine spending time going to a gym everyday when I'd rather be spending time at home with my family, and keeping up with my homework. So I'm doing my best, but its getting down to crunch time and I really do want to get preggers when Izaiah turns 2!

I have to pee!
ok guys, I am workin on this loosing slump I am in. Somebody told me to step up the water consumption to 64oz a day. This is probably what I should have been drinking all along, but I could never get quite that much down. So I took a 32oz bottle with me to work and drank it all during my drive. OMG I felt like my bladder was going to explode by the time I got to work!! And I have to drink one more of those when I get home!!
But it will all be worth it when I see the weight start to come off again.
I'm most looking forward to when it starts warming up around here and we can start riding our bikes! Then I bet those size 18 jeans will fit over my big ol' butt by July.

Weight Loss Update
I weighed myself yesterday and I've lost 74 pounds! WHE HOO!! Only 76 more to go to reach my July goal. I really want to lose at least 150 before July because my nut told me if I had lost that much by then he would feel more comfortable about me getting pregnant. The plan was to start trying when Izaiah turns two on July 14th.
While I'm still loosing weight I think I've hit a little stall. I've only lost 10 pounds since last month. If I continue to lose about 10 pounds per month I will be pretty close to my 150 loss goal by July but its cutting it pretty close. So I'm kick starting my weight loss this week by really buckling back down on my diet. I have not been getting enough water, I know because my skin is really dry right now, so I'm gonna be trying to drink at least 64 oz per day. I'm drinking a super high protein shake for breakfast every morning and eating a good lunch and dinner. I've been cheating and eating crackers and cheese. I'm cutting out the crackers and only eating the cheese.
I still have a long road ahead but things are lookin' pretty good. I think I'm losing weight from the top down. My bra size has shrunk from a 42D to a 38C and soon to be a B cup again. I'm able to wear my t-shirts from high school. Hello XL! So nice to see you again!! My old 3XL t-shirts are like nighties, going almost all the way to my knees! My face is where I see the most dramatic change. I look in the mirror and its like, "Hey there you are! You look so pretty! I remember that face!" My double chin is almost all gone and suddenly I have a neck! I never realized how fat my neck was!!
My waistline seems to be my stubborn area right now; while its gone down a lot, I still have a spare tire and a lower pooch. Those size 18 jeans are calling my name but I'm not quite there yet.....But I'll be there soon!

Damn those Girl Scouts and their tasty cookies!
Glynn and I flagged down a Girl Scout and bought some cookies. One cookie at a time isn't going to kill us right? I can eat ONE thin mint after dinner and not die!? Right!?
Well here is the problem, we ended up buying three boxes and "splitting" all three flavors after dinner. Then we both had a major sugar crash! I just couldn't understand why I couldn't keep my eyes open! Hmm, maybe the evil, oh so tasty Girl Scout cookies have something to do with it? Maybe!?
Well I won't be eating copious amounts of cookies any time soon.
In other news, Glynn has lost 77 lbs! Wow! He is looking great! I hauled out all out all our smallish winter clothes and he looks sooooo sexy in his turtleneck sweater!
I have no idea how much I have lost, we need to find a scale.
But all of our clothes are too big, I am swimming in most of my t-shirts, and I now fit into all of my t-shirts from high school!! XL BABY!! Yea you heard me, I can wear a plain ol' XL t-shirt! I might be doing a daily humpty hump to celebrate, just so you know. (for those of you who don't know, the humpty hump is a silly dance move from a song in high school)
Glynn's pants are like giant clown pants, good thing he's got those suspenders!
